    About the Role:

    In this role you will be part of the Hardware Engineering team and support the fabrication, test and troubleshooting of various unmanned surface vessels and their related subsystems. Tasks will range from building test setups for components to complete vehicle integration. We are looking for a multi talented senior technician familiar with both mechanical and electrical fabrication, component integration into sub assemblies and vehicles, test instrumentation and test execution. Attention to detail is important as tasks may range from building several identical assemblies to creating new unique one off solutions. Candidates should aspire to be organized and document their efforts while also being able to quickly think on their feet. This role will require learning new tools and software and working with various technical disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Build, test and troubleshoot various electrical systems ranging from 5V to 48V battery powered components, RF devices, data acquisition systems, sensors, payloads, motors and actuators.
    • Build, test and troubleshoot various electrical/mechanical systems related to propulsion, steering, test fixtures, support equipment and fixturing, etc.
    • Contribute to the development of solutions by providing insights from previous professional experiences.
    • Document build, test and troubleshooting processes
    • Maintain equipment, tools and instrumentation around the shop.
    • Help maintain shop organization and provide guidelines for best practices as it relates to fabrication/manufacturing and the safe use of tools and equipment
    • Source parts and tools to support various design and build efforts
    • Support transitioning prototypes to production through simplification and standardization of components and processes

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a US Citizen

    Preferred Skills:

    • Composite fabrication and repair
    • Metal working (sheet metal, milling, welding)
    • Soldering and crimping of electrical connectors and wiring
    • Use of basic electrical troubleshooting equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
    • Familiarity with a 3D CAD package
    • Experience working on boats and in maritime environments
    • Familiarity with AC and DC electrical systems, ability to read electrical specifications and schematics.

    Location:

    • This position will require you to sit on site in Rumford, RI
    • Occasional travel required.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • The target salary range for this position is $125-150k/yr
