Our client in the Holly Springs/Fuquay/Clayton, NC area is seeking 6 contract Engineering Technicians to support critical safe work permitting and isolation procedures at a chemical manufacturing facility. This team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of maintenance and project work in a highly regulated, PSM-classified environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate lockout/tagout procedures for preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Lock and tag valves and pumps according to documented safety procedures
- Use basic Microsoft Office tools, SAP, and Permit Vision to complete documentation
- Engage with central permit office to validate schedules and issue safety documentation
- Support a team that ensures compliance with OSHA safety standards and GMP regulations
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years experience in industrial or plant operations (chemical, pharmaceutical, or military)
- Comfortable reading P&IDs, schematics, and isolation drawings and executing LOTO procedures
- Physically able to walk/stand for 12-hour shifts, work at heights or in confined spaces, in outdoor conditions, and with PPE including PAPR
- Able to lift 37 lbs and perform physical tasks in confined or elevated spaces
- Prior 12-hour night shift experience strongly preferred (for night shift roles)
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Military maintenance/electrical technicians
- Industrial Engineering or Tech School Grads (Hands-On)
- Entry-level plant operators, maintenance helpers, or production technicians from pharma, chemical, or food manufacturing
- Prior exposure to safe work permitting or site isolation programs
