    Engineering Technician - Tech 1/Trainee (Dowagiac, MI)

    Overview

    The Engineering Technician supports production according to the needs of the company. The areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Robot Programming, PLC troubleshooting, Machine Recipe Management, Ignition Programming and Maintenance, and AGV system troubleshooting. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.

    Pay Range:

    • $24.75 - $33/hr. - Tech 1

    Shift Available:

    • 1st Shift, Monday - Friday

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Complete work orders to assist production
    • Maintain equipment related to the primary assigned role
    • Assist team members in their primary assigned roles
    • Provide technical support and training
    • Ensure high-quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • A solid understanding of basic engineering concepts
    • Basic computer skills and a solid knowledge of mathematics
    • Able to wear a ½ mask respirator or PAPR when required
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company's compliance standards

    Education and Experience

    • 1 - 3 years experience familiar or hands-on with PLC’s, Fanuc Paint Robots, or Ignition
    • 1 year experience using Lean Manufacturing Tools
    • Knowledge of safe electrical practices

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods standing
    • Prolonged periods sitting
    • Able to sit, stand, stoop and/or kneel for long periods of time
    • Some exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials

    Other Duties

    • Perform other tasks and/or duties related to required skills and abilities as assigned
