Training & development
Mad Science is looking for energetic and dynamic individuals to conduct fun and engaging after-school STEM programs during the 2025-2026 at various elementary schools within Nassau and Suffolk County. A teaching or education background is a plus, but is not required. This is a part-time position for 3 to 5 afternoons per week at 2 hours per day.
Requirements:
You must be available 3-5 afternoons per week between the hours of 2:30pm and 5pm
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a joyful approach to teaching
Experience working with children ages 6-11
Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel within a 10 mile radius of your home
Outgoing and engaging personality
A background in art, science, teaching, chess, or Lego-building is desirable, but not required.
We will train you on EVERYTHING you need to know - this is basic FUN learning! Our office is located in East Meadow, but we do programming out of office at schools, libraries, and other organizations.

Mad Science of Long Island is an organization encompassing several educational and entertaining programs for pre- and elementary school children. We are also the provider of Schoolhouse Chess, and Brixology, and have been bringing leaning programs to the children of Long Island for over 20 years.
