Enrolled Agent / CPA / Tax Preparer / Tax Coordinator / Tax Resolution
Job Description
Our rapidly growing accounting firm is immediately hiring for a full-time, in office, Enrolled Agent/CPA/or experienced Tax Preparer to be a Tax Preparer, Tax Coordinator and Tax Resolution Coordinator. The position will prepare tax returns using the Proconnect Tax Software, coordinate the tax return process and manage the tax resolution system to include calling the IRS and representing clients and the firm. The position will also require some administrative functions as well. Knowledge of Quickbooks Online is a bonus since the majority of our business clients use this software.
The priority is for an Enrolled Agent or CPA. Consideration will also be given for applicants who are working towards these designations and have tax preparation experience.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Prepare 1040, 1065, 1120S tax returns using the Intuit Proconnect Tax Software. If the applicant is unfamiliar with business returns, that can be addressed and trained up for. Initial training will be provided if the applicant is unfamiliar with this tax software.
- Review tax returns prepared by other preparers in the firm.
- Prepare 2848 and 8821 IRS Powers of Attorney and represent the firm and the client on calls to the IRS for tax resolution cases
- Directly responsible for the inflow, outflow and retention of information to and from our clients
- Collate and assemble tax returns to be sent to the clients
- Update the internal databases with taxpayer data
- Assist in filing state Sales Tax and Franchise Tax filings
- Internally communicate and coordinate with other departments in the firm
- Ability to multi-task within deadlines
- Use sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate professional demeanor and presentation
- Handle confidential and highly sensitive material
- Work with various accounting software, including Quickbooks Online/Quickbooks Payroll, to manage financial transactions
- Provide technical accounting support as necessary for various projects
- Assist with client consultations including new client on-boarding
Qualification requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to learn multiple new software systems quickly
- Strong people skills
Pay & Benefits
· Pay - Commiserate with experience. Enrolled Agents will potentially start at $25 an hour during the probationary period, with a CPA starting at a higher rate. Hiring rate greatly depends upon experience and amount of training required to immediately be able to complete tax returns and bill clients.
· If the applicant has sufficient Quickbooks Online and/or Tax Return preparation experience, the pay may be well above the amounts listed
