Job Description
We are looking for Enrolled Agents or Certified Public Accountants to work and advance in our growing business.
The work is good. Regular financial accounting responsibilities will be to manage the monthly posting and analysis of income and expense transactions and include reconciling bank and credit card accounts to monthly statements, processing payroll, and completing other usual tasks depending on a particular client's needs.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate operational expertise with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online financial accounting software. You must also demonstrate operational expertise with advanced payroll services such as Paychex or ADP.
Even more important than properly entering and reconciling monthly financial accounting transactions into QuickBooks, we are looking for persons who can interpret the resulting financial statements and insightfully report about them to managers and clients.
In addition to financial accounting expertise, we are looking for persons who can do business and personal income tax returns with advanced tax software such as ProSystem Fx, UltraTax, or Drake.
We use computers extensively in our work, so general computer literacy beyond using the software mentioned above is required. We also require proficient operation of a 10-key calculator.
Because of the need to interact with managers and multiple clients on a regular basis, we are looking for persons who can multi-task under pressure with accuracy. This is particularly important.
In addition to good technical ability and personal capability, we are looking for persons who will be good communicators with clients and coworkers, like working together in a pleasant team environment, and are open to personal and financial advancement.
Tax Preparation Responsibilities
Work with Administrative Staff to initially receive client tax return information and other information so that work can be completed timely
Communicate directly with our clients to gather additional information on unusual or unexpected items and to inquire about previous year changes
Accurately input all tax return information
Communicate with the Tax Manager when guidance or support is needed
Report to the Tax Manager when income tax returns or income tax planning documents are complete and ready for review and approval
After approval, print income tax returns and tax return input forms to the firm's electronic file cabinet and then push the approved income tax returns to the client's portal
Complete checklists and status reports for completed work
Financial Accounting Responsibilities
Manage assigned clients to receive financial transactions and other information so that work can be completed timely
Prepare payrolls accurately and timely
Accurately input all accounting transactions
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Reconcile other accounts depending on a particular client's needs
Communicate with the client to gather additional information on unusual or unexpected transactions
Communicate with the Accounting Manager when guidance or support is needed
Report to the Accounting Manager when the month's financial activity and analysis is complete and ready for approval
After approval, print the monthly, quarterly or annual financial sets to the firm's electronic file cabinet
Push the financial sets from the firm's electronic filing cabinet to the client's portal
Complete checklists and status reports for completed work
Requirements
Good communicator with a good personality
Expertise using a computer and a 10-key calculator
Expertise using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online financial accounting software
Expertise using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams software
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Knowledge of accounting functions and procedures
Prior work experience as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant
Qualifications
Active CPA license or on-track to obtain it or EA Certificate
Minimum of five [5] years in Public Accounting
