    Job Description

    You’re organized, community-minded, and ready to help families access great school options — and in this role you’ll do that work every day. As Enrollment Coordinator on the Newark Regional Team, you’ll drive outreach, guide families through applications, and manage enrollment data so more students find their place at North Star Academy. Your work will directly support Uncommon’s mission by increasing family access and shaping the student experience across schools in Newark through cross-functional collaboration with regional and school teams.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Community outreach & events

    • Organize and staff in-person and virtual enrollment events and school tours.
    • Conduct grassroots outreach (canvassing, tabling, flyering) and phone outreach to prospective families.
    • Build relationships with community-based organizations to expand awareness and reach.

    Family support & enrollment navigation

    • Guide families through the application and enrollment process; answer frequently asked questions and provide hands-on support.
    • Schedule and coordinate school visits and opportunities for families to connect with school staff.
    • Manage waitlist communications and next-step outreach to families.

    Data, systems, and collaboration

    • Maintain and update enrollment tracking systems and ensure data accuracy.
    • Collaborate closely with Regional and School Teams to support family transitions and enrollment goals.
    • Provide regular reports and insights to inform recruitment strategies.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Experience: 1–2 years of professional experience, with directly relevant experience such as student recruitment, canvassing, tabling, or community engagement preferred.
    • Skills and abilities (must-haves):
      • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with diverse families.
      • Excellent organization, time management, and reliable follow-through.
      • Strong data management and attention to detail.
      • Strong written communication skills.
      • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple routine and project-based responsibilities.
    • Nice-to-haves:
      • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal).
      • Previous experience with grassroots organizing, canvassing, or community outreach.
      • Problem-solving skills and comfort using data to guide work.
    • Physical requirements:

    Compensation

    Compensation for this role is between $20.34/hr to $28.95/hr.

    Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional experience, education, certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. If you meet all job description requirements you will likely receive an offer of $21.15hr.
