    About the School

    The German International School Chicago (GISC) is a private, nonprofit, bilingual IB World School, authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization for the PYP, recognized as an official German School Abroad (DAS), and accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). Since opening in 2009, GISC has grown into a vibrant community serving 200 students from Preschool through Grade 8, with Grade 9 launching in 2026-2027 as part of the school's expansion to a full high school.

    Overview GISC is looking for an Enrollment Manager who is strategic, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven, with a passion for education and community engagement. The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational skills with excellent communication abilities to guide families through the admissions journey and ensure that enrollment strategies align with the school’s mission and growth objectives.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Responsible for GISC’s enrollment management, including admissions, financial aid, re-enrollment, and retention strategies.

    Manages the full admissions process from initial inquiry through enrollment and re-enrollment, including all communications, tours, open houses, info sessions, interviews, shadow days, assessment/testing, application review, decision notification, onboarding, as well as thorough and timely documentation and data entry in the school’s CRM system (Blackbaud) and other software systems.

    Drives enrollment strategy to increase inquiries and optimize yield and retention, tracking the full enrollment funnel, trends, and parent feedback, and implementing initiatives to maximize conversion.

    Sets annual enrollment and admissions goals in cooperation with the Head of School and Administration, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed.

    Plans, executes, and oversees school events supporting community outreach, admissions, and retention; promotes summer camp to current, prospective, and alumni families.

    Stays current on trends in admissions, financial aid, and retention, including economic and demographic shifts that could impact admissions and enrollment.

    Provides reports on admissions, enrollment, and trends to Administrators and the Board of Trustees as directed.

    Works closely with the school’s Marketing, Finance, Administration, and Development departments as well as the School Leadership Team.

    Collaborates with the Marketing department to align enrollment goals with marketing strategy and drive increased inquiries, applications, and enrollment from qualified candidates.

    Leads continuous improvement of the admissions experience, including website content, parent communications, and outreach initiatives, ensuring all admissions messaging reflects the school's value proposition, brand identity, and key differentiators while maximizing conversion and engagement.

    Organizes and administers GISC’s financial aid program and budget in collaboration with the Financial Aid Committee.

    Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with feeder schools, community organizations, business partners, etc.

    Demonstrates the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion, ensuring compliance with GISC’s policies and legal requirements.

    Performs administrative and other office tasks as needed.

    Specific Qualifications/Skills

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of degree or experience

    Experience in school enrollment and admissions preferred

    Proficiency in the German language (both in speaking and writing); commitment to bilingualism, international education, and global citizenship

    Strong interpersonal, presentation, networking, verbal, and written communication skills (builds positive relationships while respecting boundaries, adapting communication style to diverse audiences with tact and diplomacy)

    Excellent work ethic with strong analytical and organizational skills

    Must have a keen eye for detail

    Excellent command of technology and CRM systems (Blackbaud is a plus)

    Google Workspace or Microsoft Office experience is a plus

    Work Environment – Physical Requirements This position operates in an office environment that is accessible. Some work at off-site locations may be required, and those may not necessarily be fully accessible. This is an in-person role and not suited for remote work. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets. This workplace is a smoke- and drug-free environment.
