Job Description

The TFMS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST requires hardware and software skills including functional analysis and general problem determination of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Air Traffic Control System requirements and troubleshooting for the TRAFFIC FLOW MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TFMS).  This position is responsible for the design, development and support of hardware & software related to ATC - Air Traffic Control services, implementation of interface software, portable and flexible database products, and the displays and controls that optimize the operator-machine interface. Duties will also include contributing towards continuous improvement in both code and process, and collaboration with a cross-functional team.

THIS JOB IS CURRENTLY REMOTE BUT ONCE COVID RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED, WE ANTICIPATE HAVING TO REPORT THE ENROUTE COMPUTER SOLUTIONS OFFICE IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma and a minimum of 10 Years of related experience including at least 5 years of TFMS experience.        

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or another Technical field and a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience.  

OR

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or another Technical field and a minimum of nine (9) years of related experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

•    Knowledge of the FAA's Air Traffic Control System components and specifically TFMS
•    Experience working with system-level requirements
•    Experience with analyzing software and hardware problems
•    Experience reviewing and writing Technical Documents
•    Experience with FAA System Support Modifications (SSM's), System Support Documents (SSD's) a plus
•    Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
•    General knowledge of scripting is required
•    Experience interfacing with Software Developers and System Engineers
•    Must be a self-starter able to work on own
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
