Job Description

The DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST works independently with minimal supervision to provide expertise in technical data entry, technical document generation, and document storage and maintenance in Federal Aviation Administration/FAA standardized word processing applications. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of and experience in using FAA documentation formats, conventions and terms that are used for production of System Support Directives, handbooks, notices, and other documentation required to support the National Aerospace System/NAS and NAS support systems. Provides expertise in configuration management procedures and standards for NAS and NAS support systems and development of related policy and procedures. Must be experienced and knowledgeable with automation systems used for numbering, recording, documenting, tracking and reporting NAS system status and procedures. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST BE LOCAL TO THE FAA'S WILLIAM J HUGHES TECHNICAL CENTER IN POMONA, NJ.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum six (6) years of related experience; Associates Degree with a minimum of four (4) years related experience; or Bachelors Degree with a minimum of two (2) years related experience. Possesses experience in procedural requirements for satisfying the areas of documentation and configuration management. SKILLS, ABILITIES & CERTIFICATIONS:

• FAA System Support Directive experience is required
• Demonstrates proficiency in computer graphics and COTS publications
• Highly competent skills in using Microsoft Office, including expert proficiency in Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of EPIC/Arbortext a plus.
