ABOUT THE POSITION

Ensemble Music Schools is seeking a positive, experienced, and professional voice instructor to join our Artist Faculty part-time at Christopher Laughlin School of Music, our Northbrook, IL location. We are looking for teachers who will instruct in person.

Our ideal candidate for this position will be an exceptional addition to our faculty, among the highest caliber of professional teacher. This candidate will have a strong music background evidenced by a bachelor's degree in voice performance, pedagogy, or music education (concentration in voice), a demonstrated love of teaching, experience working with young musicians, a robust appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check. IN ADDITION TO THESE QUALIFICATIONS, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE AN EXCELLENT REPUTATION IN THE COMMUNITY, THE ABILITY TO ATTRACT QUALITY STUDENT REFERRALS, AND THE TEACHING SKILLS TO HELP STUDENTS DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES IN REGIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES.

Teachers whose exceptional credentials, local reputation, and background merit the designation of “Artist Faculty” at CLSM will be considered for a rate of $45 per hour. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all of our employees after 90 days on the job.

The Christopher Laughlin School of Music started in 1996 as the Christopher Laughlin Classical Guitar Studio in Glenview, IL. Over the years, Christopher Laughlin consolidated all of his teaching into one location and gradually added more teachers, more lesson programs, and more space. The respected CLSM currently has a highly qualified and esteemed faculty of 17 music teachers who inspire, motivate, and ignite the hearts and minds of approximately 240 music students per week.
