Electrical Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $110k - $115k depending on experience
Position Summary:
Seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to be part of a team that is directly involved in the engineering, product design, product development and implementation of these designs in a manufacturing environment. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be working with the Engineering Manager, Sr. Production Manager and Mechanical Designers as well as on their own, on various projects supporting current and future products.
Duties:
Design and develop new products and enhance capabilities of existing products
Responsible for circuit theory, prototype designs and updating electronic products
Design and/or redesign of PCB schematics and layouts as needed
Experienced in managing a design team, engineers and electro-mechanical designers
Support Manufacturing as new products are brought online, developing best practices, identify new component suppliers
Work closely with Electronic Technicians and PCB Assembly team in Manufacturing troubleshooting electronic production issues and updating production methods with current and newer processes
Technical and creative writing skills are a “must have”; product operating procedures, test reports with technical graphics, user manuals, industry publications and articles, etc.
Work closely with manufacturing providing solutions for End-Of-Life (EOL) components
Required Education and Experience:
BS In Electrical Engineering
Experience 13 – 15 continuous years practicing as an Electrical Engineer
Electronic circuit design both analog and digital, qualify new circuitry at temperature, troubleshooting new and existing circuits
Experienced in managing a design team
Experience introducing a new product into Manufacturing, creating test & qualification procedures
AutoCAD familiarity necessary
Software design - C/C++ and assembly for microcontrollers
Experience in design and layout printed circuit boards (PCB’s)
Knowledge of EMI & RFI interference and their suppression
Very familiar with Oscilloscopes, LCR meter, power supplies and multimeters is required
Mechanically inclined and able to support in-house projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills of the English language
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills required
Experience with troubleshooting customer issues over the phone
Must not wear a pacemaker due to health issues around high voltage products.
Desired Experience
Hardware and software design for PIC Microchip, STMicro STM32H734
High Voltage DC-DC power supply design
Knowledge of PCB schematic and board layout tools – Altium Designer
PLC programming experience with VisiLogic software by Unitronics
3D Printing experience using software such as Cura, OpenSCAD or 3D Slicer
DSP and graphical LCD programming
