CALIBRE , an employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is seeking an Enterprise Architect to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) under the AI Talent contract. This position may be located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; Alexandria, VA; or performed remotely. The Enterprise Architect will provide high-level technical and strategic guidance to ensure the enterprise systems architecture aligns with mission and business goals across research and operational domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide architectural expertise and guidance to technical teams and leadership across AFRL’s enterprise systems.
Develop architectural products and deliverables to support both enterprise-wide and operational business lines.
Define system strategies and design infrastructure frameworks to enable execution of strategic initiatives.
Advise on procurement decisions for technology solutions related to data processing, storage, access, and software development.
Set and enforce standards for relational database structures (e.g., SQL, Oracle, Sybase) to ensure consistency and interoperability across systems.
Evaluate the feasibility of proposed technical initiatives and provide recommendations to senior management.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
7+ years of experience in enterprise or systems architecture within government, defense, or complex enterprise environments
Active TS clearance required, SCI eligible
Demonstrated experience developing IT strategies and technical roadmaps
Deep knowledge of enterprise-level software, cloud infrastructure, and relational database systems
Strong communication skills to effectively advise technical teams and senior stakeholders
Preferred:
TOGAF, DoDAF, or similar enterprise architecture certification
Experience working in classified or DoD environments
Familiarity with AI, data analytics, or research and development support architectures
