Job Description
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Coordinator will promote an engaged and safe work environment. This leader must be a strong business-minded leader capable of driving results, reduce cost, obtain on-time delivery, develop employees, and be a positive culture steward. Responsible for enforcing goals including safety, quality, and performance measures. This position will supervise the Production team. This leader will apply the ITW Principles to strategizing new ideas to move the business to a higher level. This position will be located in Beecher, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management) required.
· 3 years of leading a team in a manufacturing environment within a facility employing 50+ production employees; focusing on safety, quality, and production
· Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing cost-drivers
· Skilled at performance management; providing formal and informal feedback to employees
· Possess the track record of a proven leader and team player, demonstrates positive attitude, takes personal accountability, coaches, listens, approachable, and resolves issues/conflicts in timely manner.
· Exhibit encouragement of diverse ideas, focus on coaching/developing strengths of team members and facilitate effective communication
· Be customer-focused with management and support staff; understand how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e. engineering, materials, and sales)
· Strong leadership and teaming capabilities with the ability to operate independently, affect change across functions, and have a track record of delivering results.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/work streams simultaneously.
· Demonstrated project management, analytical, strategic, problem solving experience; displaying an ability to work effectively within complex decision making and organizational structures.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Experience driving employee involvement and encouraging creativity
· Understanding of a variety of operational excellence competencies including, but not limited to: ITW Toolbox, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, etc.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to prepare reports, presentations, and analyses
· Must be capable of working in a manufacturing environment, which require exposure to heat, cold, machinery and controlled chemicals.
