    Davenport Machinist Trainee

    Immediate opening on 1st shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5:30 am - 4:00 pm

    BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

    Machine operator trainee will learn all associated task with the operation and set-up of Davenport machines using blue-print and other process documents to quality requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION.

    · Set up and operate Acme machines involving intricate tooling and a wide range of operations.

    · Assist in devising methods of machining new and difficult jobs.

    · Regrind special recess tools and other high speed and carbide special tooling.

    · Instruct others.

    · Diagnose and correct problems quickly and efficiently.

    · Make programming and job improvements.

    · Maintain acceptable production rates as documented in the process instructions.

    · Perform other duties as requested.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES.

    · Assist, as needed, in other functional areas of machining

    · Work greater than 40 hours per week

    · Needs to provide own transportation to and from work assignment

    · Provide optimal quality of service to all customers – internal and external

    · Perform routine maintenance on machine as assigned

    · Must be able to utilize all tooling required for the work assignment

    · Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

    · High school diploma or GED

    · Prior manufacturing experience is helpful

    · Strong organizational skills

    · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
