    TAT is a minority owned, family-centered small business. We specialize in manufacturing and repairing industrial gas turbine components (turbines used to generate electricity in power plants). We also provide custom metal part fabrication, machining, and assembly services. TAT will soon be moving to a larger facility later this year and seeks to expand its team.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will support the company’s quality assurance and quality control efforts by assisting with product inspections, documentation, and compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements. This role helps ensure that products meet established quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 quality management principles. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail and is committed to our high standards of quality. This is an ideal position for someone with little to no experience in quality!

    Responsibilities

    Perform product inspections to verify parts meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements

    Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment

    Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records

    Identify and report nonconforming materials or products according to company procedures

    Assist with containment and segregation of nonconforming products

    Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities when quality issues arise

    Maintain organized quality documentation within job folders and quality records

    Required Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED required

    Basic understanding of manufacturing processes preferred

    Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions

    Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar programs

    Ability to follow established procedures and instructions

    Good communication and teamwork skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Associate degree or coursework in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field

    Previous manufacturing, inspection, or production experience

    Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

    Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges

    Follow documented procedures and work instructions in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)

    Ensure inspection records and quality documentation are properly completed and retained in accordance with ISO 9001 record control requirements

    Assist in the control and identification of nonconforming products per established procedures

    Support corrective and preventive action processes by providing inspection data and observations

    Participate in internal audits or provide documentation as requested by the Quality Manager or auditors

    Promote risk-based thinking by identifying potential quality risks or process issues

    Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality and process efficiency

    Help ensure customer requirements and applicable regulatory requirements are met

    Maintain traceability of materials and parts when required by company or customer specifications

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during inspections

    Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

    Good visual acuity to inspect small components and detect defects

    Manual dexterity to operate measuring instruments

    Work Environment

    This position operates primarily in a manufacturing and shop environment where exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment may occur. Proper safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be followed at all times.
