    Job Description Qualifications:

    KC-46 Tanker is the world's most capable tanker aircraft. Currently supporting the USAF missions, Boeing is working to provide enhancements to the Aerial Refueling product while continuing to deliver this premier platform. This engineering position is on the Aerial Refueling Drogue Engineering team in Everett, WA.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Flight Control Components hardware (HW) system-level verification and validation testing including hardware design, integration and qualification.

    • Perform hardware root-cause analysis and support overall system integration anomalies.

    • Works with customers to develop and document complex mechanical system requirements.

    • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware designs and interface specifications.

    • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

    • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

    • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.

    • Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.

    • Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics).

    • Knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

    • Using a variety of media, clearly conveys information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

    This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

    • Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

    • Ability to complete analysis and troubleshooting of complex hardware systems; process and draw conclusions from data.

    • Collaborate/integrate with and learn from other teams.

    • Clearly communicate results

    • Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A)]

    • Excellent knowledge of design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, equipment, and methods.

    Typical Education / Experience:

    Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
