    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering Design/ITS Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level to early-career engineer to work on a variety of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and lighting design projects for city, state, and private sector clients.

    As part of our dynamic team, you will be involved in electrical design projects including:

    • Roadway and highway reconstruction
    • Fiber optic and wireless communications systems, including network architecture, conduit layouts, and power distribution for ITS devices
    • Traffic signal system design, including electrical wiring, conduit layouts, power distribution, and interconnection of traffic controllers, signal heads, and detection systems
    • ITS infrastructure design, including layout and electrical design for dynamic message signs (DMS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, vehicle detection systems, and roadside communication devices
    • Highway, roadway, and intersection lighting design, including photometric analysis, circuiting, and electrical load calculations
    • Preparation of design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation
    • Preparation of Electrical load calculations, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules for traffic signal, ITS, and lighting systems

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for design work
    • Strong communication, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • EIT certification (or progress toward obtaining it) preferred
    • Relevant experience in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design
