Ripple Effect Consulting is hiring Utility Locator Technicians in the Columbus, OH area. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get started in the utility, surveying, geospatial or construction industry.

Utility Locator Technicians work as part of a survey team to locate and document underground utilities using GPS and utility locating equipment. Training will be provided, and motivated individuals will have opportunities for advancement.

What You'll Do

Locate and mark underground utilities

Collect field data using GPS and utility locating equipment

Work alongside survey crews on projects throughout the area

Read utility maps, plans and as-built drawings

Prepare basic sketches and documentation of completed work

Accurately record field information

Work independently and as part of a team

Perform outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED

Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Dependable with strong attention to detail

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Able to follow verbal instructions and work in a team environment

Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Previous utility locating, surveying, construction or outdoor field experience is a plus but not required. Familiarity with underground utility locating equipment or GPS equipment is also helpful.
