We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Entry Writer to join our operations team and help ensure accurate and timely documentation of shipments and compliance with all applicable regulations.
The Entry Writer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting import/export documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agency regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, carriers, and external partners. The Entry Writer plays a critical role in maintaining smooth logistics operations and supporting customer satisfaction.
Prepare and process customs entries and related documentation for import and export shipments
Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and other shipping documents for accuracy and completeness
Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and company policies
Communicate with freight forwarders, brokers, and government agencies to resolve any entry-related issues
Maintain accurate and organized records of shipments and documentation
Monitor and track shipment status to ensure timely release and delivery
Collaborate with internal departments (logistics, accounting, purchasing, etc.) to ensure proper documentation and process flow
Stay current on changes in import/export laws and regulations
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred
1–3 years of experience in import/export, customs brokerage, or logistics operations
Knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures and import/export compliance regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with logistics or customs software a plus
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
