PSE Healthy Energy is an independent science and policy research institute focused on producing science-based energy and climate solutions that protect public health and the environment. Our team includes experts in science, engineering, and public health working across five key practice areas: Clean Energy Transition, Environmental Public Health, Climate, Energy Equity, and Oil and Gas. POSITION
PSE Healthy Energy is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Environmental Analyst (II) to support our team of scientists, engineers, and analysts in building and maintaining large datasets for environmental, climate, and health assessments. This role is ideal for a candidate with demonstrated experience in a research setting who is passionate about analytical work and eager to develop deep expertise over the next 2-3 years.
The analyst will contribute to a variety of projects by collecting, processing, and analyzing data, collaborating with team members, and adapting to evolving research priorities. Success in this role means delivering accurate, high-quality data and insights that drive impactful environmental research, effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and consistently adapting to meet the dynamic needs of PSE's science-policy initiatives. ROLES ** and** RESPONSIBILITIES
****Data Collection: Review scientific studies, reports, and other sources to gather relevant environmental data; contact state and federal agencies to request access to datasets.
Data Entry and Management: Accurately enter data into study databases in a well-documented, detailed, and timely manner, ensuring high standards of data integrity.
Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis using statistical and programming tools (e.g., Python, R) to process datasets, generate insights, and create visualizations.
Quality Assurance: Assist scientists in performing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks to ensure database accuracy and reliability.
Research Support: Conduct background research to inform technical reports, manuscripts, and policy briefs, synthesizing findings for diverse audiences.
Technology Utilization: Leverage cloud-based platforms and programming tools to support data processing, analysis, and visualization tasks.
Collaboration: Work closely with multiple team members, communicate findings clearly, and seek assistance when needed to meet project objectives.
Adaptability: Respond quickly to changing research needs and priorities, flexibly pivoting across diverse projects and deliverables in a dynamic science-policy landscape.

LOCATION and WORK CONDITIONS
Remote within the United States. Extended or irregular work hours will be required during project sprints or rollouts. Position requires computer usage and sitting for extended periods of time, good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential.
