SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

EBS is aggressively expanding within the Portland Market as a specialized Storm-water Systems Service & Maintenance company.

A hired individual must be self motivated and capable of working by themselves in the field during their shift in all weather conditions. This individual would be performing tasks involving physical labor at a wide variety of locations throughout Portland Metro and the surrounding areas.  The position will need to be able to consistently perform physical labor using legs, back, & arms; handle equipment weighing 25-50lbs, operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well enter some confined spaces.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs a variety of Non-Haz Storm System Service tasks (Storm Drains,Trenches, OWS, Ect.) involving strenuous manual labor; performs manual work in driving to site locations and preparing of service sites.
2. Performs all necessary equipment inspections prior to leaving shop for work site.
3. Interacts with clients in limited bases.
4. Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
5. Vac-ing, handling, & disposal of non-hazardous materials.
6. Loads and unloads trucks, hauls, and hoists materials.
7. Follows current OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.      Responsible Class A CDL license. General understanding of all current ODOT standards and inspection criteria for pre and post trip inspections of equipment.

2.      A high school diploma or equivalent.

3.      Moderate experience in the operation and maintenance of motorized equipment.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATE:

Must possess Class A CDL Driver License with minimum of Air Brake and tank endorsement.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position regularly works outside during all weather conditions winter, spring, summer, fall.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, and/or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of challenging conditions at job sites that will need to be problem solved in real time like tight areas, stuck grates, clogged hoses, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects & equipment up to 50 pounds, walks and stands for long periods of time (between 8 to 10 hours a day) and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee consistently lifts, pushes, pulls and/or carries objects using abdominal and lower back muscles. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi limb coordination as well as requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Part/Full-time position. Days and hours of work may depend on business needs.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.  

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)

Must be able to meet companies’ security clearance process as well as client’s clearance protocol.
