    This position will perform routine manual work consisting of a wide variety of parks maintenance and custodial tasks for the Division of Parks and Recreation. Supervision is received from a Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or Parks Maintenance Leader.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

     

     

    • Litter pick-up and trash removal
    • Park shelter clean-up
    • General grounds maintenance
    • Raking
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

     

    The qualifications / requirements, knowledge/skills/abilities and physical demands or working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     • Possession of a valid automobile operator's license (for age 18 years and older)

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
    • Effective spoken and written (English) communication skills, including the ability to accurately complete inventory forms and other paperwork
    PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR:
    • Age 18 years and older for vehicle operation duties
    • Previous grounds maintenance work experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly walk, and lift up to 20 pounds; frequently sit, lift between 20 - 50 pounds, push up to and over 40 pounds, pull up to and over 40 pounds and reach; occasionally climb, stoop, perform repetitive motions and drive; and rarely crawl
    • While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly work in a dirty, dusty and noisy environment, and near machinery; frequently work outdoors.
