Environmental or Civil Engineer – Remedial Design (Sediment & Upland Projects)
A growing employee-owned environmental consulting firm is looking to add a skilled Environmental or Civil Engineer to their collaborative Seattle team. The ideal candidate champions technical excellence, environmental stewardship, and client-focused service.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support sediment remediation, habitat restoration, and upland remediation projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. They’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams—internal technical specialists, external partners, and contractors—to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Must-Haves
4+ years’ experience in environmental or civil engineering within consulting or environmental construction
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with plan to obtain WA Professional Engineer (PE) license within 2 years
Ability to obtain required certifications/licenses (e.g., HAZWOPER, CPR, TWIC)
Valid driver’s license
Additional Expertise (Preferred)
Preparing remedial investigation, feasibility studies, or remedial design for sediment and/or upland sites
Field experience: sampling soils, sediment, groundwater, or soil vapor
Proficiency in CADD/Civil3D for drawings or volume calculations
Familiarity with WA State environmental regulatory frameworks
Drafting plans, specifications, bid packages
Providing construction oversight on remediation projects
Collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies

Position Details
Types of Projects: Both office-based tasks (site evaluations, design reviews) and fieldwork (site investigations, oversight)

Work Arrangement: Flexible schedule with core hours (e.g. 9?AM–4?PM), typically 2–3 days onsite; extra time off for extended project hours; occasional regional travel (under 3 hours; expenses reimbursed)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
Staff Environmental Engineer (4–5 years’ experience): $88K–$95K
Project Environmental Engineer (6–9 years): $95K–$110K
Bonus & Equity: Quarterly merit-based bonus opportunities; equity/ownership options
