    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Engineer III, Alabama-licensed professional engineer for CERCLA remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Tallahassee, FL, soon to be Niceville, FL.

    The selected candidate for this role will be responsible with performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. You can expect duties including gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. You will be trained to work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. We are seeking individuals with experience in Identifying discrepancies in results.

    The job responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:

    • Providing guidance to entry level engineers
    • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
    • Independently performing all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
    • Providing technical input to CERCLA studies and design
    • Developing study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others
    • Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
    • Assisting in developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
    • Preparing technical specification sections
    • Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS in Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Alabama Professional Engineer (P.E.) Licensed
    • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree in Engineering or related field
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental remediation (including sediment) project management
    • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
    • Experience with pesticide remediation
    • Experience successfully managing environmental projects under CERCLA
    • Thorough working knowledge of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
    • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
    • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
    • Occasional overnight travel required
