    Job Description

    As EHS Manager, you will provide comprehensive safety leadership for complex water/wastewater operations, serving as a customer-facing Subject Matter Expert, for our brand new site in Michigan. This highly networked role combines strategic oversight of EHS programs, engineering design review, and procedure development with hands-on field presence.

    You'll drive organizational excellence through effective program implementation, while leveraging your expertise to tackle complex challenges and make critical operational decisions. Success requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional people management skills, and the ability to foster a culture of safety excellence in demanding environments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review engineered systems through the design phase with an EHS mindset
    • Perform HAZOP / What If? / PHA / FMEA as needed.
    • Organize and drive feedback to engineering for sustained product and project delivery improvement
    • Assign and track employee training and certifications
    • Review field Job Safety Analysis, issue work permits, perform safety observations
    • Communicate with fellow services, production team members, engineering, process & controls
    • groups to ensure issues are recorded and understood to allow uninterrupted customer service
    • Work independently, being able to set goals and accomplish them
    • Root Cause Analysis for incident investigation
    • Mechanical experience and know-how (hands-on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with water treatment equipment (pumps, valves, instrumentation, relief valves, regulators, pneumatic systems, etc.).

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, EHS, or Chemistry
    • 5-10 years progressive experience in EHS or water treatment industry
    • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance standards
    • Proven project management track record

    • Demonstrated leadership in fostering high-performance culture
    • Advanced proficiency in business applications (Google Workspace)
    • Expert-level Root Cause Analysis using Apollo/Tap Root methodologies
    • Strategic approach to relationship management

    Technical Expertise:

    • Industrial water treatment systems and processes
    • Advanced treatment technologies including: Reverse Osmosis/Electrodialysis (RO/ED), ultrafiltration/Membrane Bioreactor (UF/MBR), ion Exchange and thermal processes, and ADT systems.
