Introduction: Provide environmental planning and project coordination for department, work group, or
project(s) to the General Services Administration (GSA) Region 8.
Major Duties: Assist GSA manager or other lead person. in planning and coordinating work flow.
Assist in development, and implementation of the Denver Federal Center's SEMS program, including
delivery of SEMS awareness training. Maintain general SEMS awareness resources, recommend
program updates for compliance with executive orders and regulatory compliance. Experience with the
documentation and reporting practices established under the ISO 14000, Environmental Management
Systems (EMS) standards.
Assist in development, and implementation of the Denver Federal Center's LEED program, including
identification of training requirements, development of training documents, identifying training
opportunities, and tracking program progress. Manage project and programs in support of regional SEMS
and LEED program.
Review contractor work products for completeness, correctness, and compliance with regulations.
Prepare scopes of work and task orders associated with environmental program development and
implementation.
Prepare reports for and interface with GSA Central Office along with State and Federal environmental
agencies as directed by GSA regarding compliance with executive orders, environmental regulations and
internal GSA programs.
Develop and implement plans to monitor and assure compliance with GSA, Federal, State and local
environmental programs and regulations within the GSA region. With GSA's consent, attend/participate
in coordination and negotiation meetings and other discussions within GSA and State and Federal
environmental agencies.
Other Responsibilities: Organizing, plan, develop, and implementation of GSA environmental plans
and projects. Support implementation, reporting, and update training programs.
Coordinate project schedules and support GSA in program development, metrics tracking, and program
improvement. Maintain electronic and hard copy file records for document products. Create training
materials and performing training to meet client needs.
Minimum Qualifications: The incumbent will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, science or
related field. They will have at least 5 years' experience in environmental management field activities.
Understanding of environmental programs, general understanding of regulations governing them, and
terminology related to them. The will demonstrate a proven ability to take a project/assignment and with
initial direction work through completion with nominal supervision. Good spelling, grammar and writing
skills, experience in organization, administrative support, proficient with MS Word and MS Excel and
knowledge of MS Project and PowerPoint helpful. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
