Refinery Construction Manager
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the overall execution of a major refinery project currently estimated at approximately 80,000 direct field labor man-hours pre-turnaround.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction from initial planning through successful project completion and turnaround. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing large-scale industrial construction initiatives with a proven ability to control costs, mitigate risks, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
\- Provide overall leadership and direction for the construction execution team across all phases of the project lifecycle
\- Develop and implement detailed construction execution plans, schedules, cost estimates and work processes
\- Manage/coordinate with contractors, suppliers, inspectors and multi-disciplinary construction crews
\- Enforce quality control and ensure adherence to codes, specifications, and safety requirements
\- Proactively identify and resolve construction issues, risks, and schedule impacts
\- Control project costs and provide detailed progress reporting to stakeholders
\- Ensure seamless transition through turnaround and commissioning phases
Qualifications:
\- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
\- 10+ years of industrial construction management experience, including refinery projects
\- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, codes, and safety regulations
\- Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, estimating and budgeting for mega-projects
\- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams
\- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
\- Proficiency with construction management software and technologies
