    Job Description

    Epic Land Solutions, Inc. (“Epic”) is a leading right of way consulting firm whose purpose is to assist in negotiating the acquisition of real property interests for public agencies developing new infrastructure projects or improvements.

    We have an immediate opening for a FULL-TIME PROJECT ACCOUNTANT (“PA”) FOR INVOICING to support our project managers and accounting team. The PA is a key asset within Epic, as they manage billings throughout the lifecycle of projects.     Training on site in Torrance for approximately eight weeks, depending on experience. We expect the position to be fully remote upon acquiring the necessary knowledge to successfully perform the job functions.

    Responsibilities:

    ·       Prepare client invoices in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and terms and conditions of the contract.

    • Monitor invoice aging and collections.
    • Partner with project managers to review and track project performance, including variance analysis and profitability.
    • Understand and comply with contract expiration and rate escalation processes.
    • Understand contracts, project schedules, and budgets.
    • Understand and comply with sub-consultant contracts and vendor requirements.
    • Update project forecasts monthly and participate in finance meetings
    • Prepare spreadsheets and reports for senior management as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Four-year college degree required, with a degree in finance or accounting, OR work experience equivalent.
    •  Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
    • Project accounting experience necessary
    • Experience as a Project Accountant in an Engineering, Architectural or Construction firm is an asset.
    • Understand sub-consultant relationships and contracts.
    • Establish and maintain sub-consultant purchase orders and process invoices.
    • Ability to think critically with a solutions-based approach 
    • Strong and effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Must have the people skills required to work in a team environment as this position requires staff interaction.
    • Must be self-directed and able to work independently to resolve problems. 
    • Extreme diligence, the ability to multi-task, and be highly organized
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook knowledge. SharePoint a plus
    • Proficient user of BST 8 a plus.

    This is an exempt full-time position. The marginal functions of this position have not been included. This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties.
