    Job Description

     

    Epigentek Group Inc. is a global leader of epigenetic research technologies including epigenetic-related assay reagents and services. Located on beautiful Long Island, with its sandy beaches and fresh bagels, Epigentek sits less than an hour train ride away from the heart of midtown Manhattan.

    The successful candidate for this position will be a highly motivated self-starter with a proven track record in technical sales. Required qualifications are either (a) some general direct-sales experience with a life sciences degree; or (b) some direct-sales experience specifically in the biotechnology industry with an unrelated degree. Necessary qualities of the candidate include strong oral and written communication skills, customer service abilities, high empathy, ability to function in a multi-tasking, self-prioritization, organization and planning skills, and especially the ability to close the sale.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals
    • Interact with customer leads generated through marketing to create and close opportunities
    • Comply with assigned schedules, assignments and productivity metrics
    • Target new and existing customers via direct phone, mail, and e-marketing to promote new and existing product lines
    • Generate price quotations and suggested offerings for customers
    • Maintain customer and opportunity information in our CRM tool
    • Occasionally attend tradeshows 3-4 times a year, and qualify and coordinate leads from tradeshows and marketing campaigns
    • Understand and proactively learn the company's product, functionality, positioning, and competitive advantages
    • Support other sales and marketing team members as needed
    • Provide detailed reports regarding customer needs and feedback

    Job Qualifications:

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a life science field and some sales experience, or extensive selling experience in the life sciences industry with an unrelated degree; lab experience is also useful
    • At least one year experience in Direct Sales / Sales Development with proven experience of closing sales
    • Energetic and service oriented personality with strong selling abilities
    • Able to work independently with a passionate and competitive drive, as well as being a team player
    • Excellent organization and negotiation skills
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Windows computer environment
    • High empathy with good analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    Compensation plan is based on $40k-$45k base + commission/bonus. Expected total ~$50k-70k for meeting goals.
