    Job Description

    Under the supervision of the Summer Camp Manager, the Equine Program Coordinator will assist in the overall administration and oversight of equine program and farm . The major responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to:

    Responsibilities

    Personnel orientation, evaluation, scheduling and management

    Create and coordinate summer camp program schedules and activities

    Continual evaluation of programs and resources

    Oversee training and wellbeing of herd and farm animals

    Assist in selecting herd and farm aquisitions

    Maintain accurate program records and logs

    Ensure the security and safety of camp grounds, facilities, and program equipment associated with the summer camp program

    Coordinate with other department employees and managers as needed

    Disseminate all pertinent information to department employees

    Ongoing communication with the Summer Camp Manager for policy and standards direction, departmental development and relevant business

    Inventory and request equipment acquisitions as needed

    Provide positive public relations on behalf of Pathfinder Ranch and serve as the liaison between the Ranch and client groups

    Communicate and coordinate with Camper parents/guardians

    Comply with Health and Fire Department regulations, organizational policies and accreditation standards

    Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

    Exhibit the ability to work well within the Pathfinder Ranch organization and with other employees

    Must be self-motivated and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner

    Previous work experience within an organized camp, outdoor education program or similar setting

    Must be proficient with computers (including spread sheets, word processing, email, and web browsing)

    Able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)

    Able to effectively supervise staff

    Must have a valid driver’s license, able to operate a motor vehicle, and be insured on company insurance policy

    Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and evenings

    Hold and maintain current child and adult First Aid, CPR and AED certifications from a nationally recognized provider (at least 50% of the course must be in-person with a practical skills session)

    18 years of age or older

    Physical Requirements

    Exerting and lifting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently

    Work in excess of 8 hours per day

    Ability to perform duties for entire shift (8 or more hours)

    Ability to work on steep and uneven terrain in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain or snow

    Ability to work with horses, livestock and other animals

    Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

    Dates of Work

    Year-round, full-time.

    Primarily weekdays with some weekend work.

    Compensation

    $17.90 - $20.90 per hour
