Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Assembly / Machine Builder to join a growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for building and assembling custom machinery and electrical control panels based on technical drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with wiring and assembly, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
- Assemble machinery and equipment using hand and power tools
- Install electrical components and perform point-to-point wiring
- Drill, tap, and modify parts for proper assembly
- Install piping, fixtures, and attachments for air and water systems
- Ensure proper alignment, tolerances, and clearances of components
- Test equipment to verify functionality and performance standards
- Operate fabrication equipment (lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, etc.) as needed
- Perform basic machine maintenance
- Track time and materials used in production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1–3 years of manufacturing or machine building experience preferred
- Strong mechanical background in equipment assembly
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Education:
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience with electrical wiring and control panel assembly
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures, etc.)
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Familiarity with ASTM standards is a plus
- Strong attendance and work ethic
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing/shop environment
- Required use of PPE (safety-toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection as needed)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
