Position Overview
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Foreman to lead and develop a dedicated excavation and concrete crew supporting our commercial electrical projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of work—from planning to completion—ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage excavation and concrete crews for electrical projects
- Plan, schedule, and execute work from start to completion
- Perform and oversee excavation for underground conduit, duct banks, vaults, and trenching
- Supervise and assist with concrete work tied to electrical infrastructure
- Operate equipment: excavators, skid steers (auger, forks), telehandlers, trenchers
- Read and interpret blueprints and verify installations (pole bases, transformer pads, etc.)
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment needs
- Order materials and manage deliveries
- Complete daily reports and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Lead safety meetings and enforce best practices
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively
- Perform and/or coordinate regular maintenance and repairs on excavation equipment
- - 5+ years of experience in excavation, heavy equipment operation, or underground utilities
- - Proven leadership experience (Foreman or Lead role)
- - Background in commercial electrical construction and civil work
- - Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment
- - Experience with concrete work related to electrical systems
- - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- - Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills
- - Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards
Qualifications
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Equipment operation certifications
- CDL (preferred, not required)
