The Equipment Maintenance Technician will perform required maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and facility services equipment to maximize reliability and output without compromising quality and safety; as scheduled or required. . Responsibilities will include:
Main Duties amp; Responsibilities:
- Capable of troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical problems on assigned equipment and supporting manufacturing operations by responding to operator concerns and equipment breakdowns.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, as well as mechanical drawings, in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
- Perform all mechanical Predictive amp; Preventative Maintenance (PMs) on various manufacturing and facility services equipment.
- Document PMs using computerized maintenance management systems. Possess basic computer skills with the ability to send and receive emails, as well as electronically respond to Maintenance Requests.
- Build, install, remodel, and/or make changes to building grounds or equipment, including structures, electrical systems, mechanical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, building systems and related maintenance.
- Assist in the design, specification and/or procurement of new equipment. Work with outside contractors and vendors as necessary to install, qualify, and commission new capital equipment. Support operator training on new capital equipment.
- Understand and adhere to LO/TO, Confined Space, Hot Work, and all other plant safety requirements.
- Apply problem solving methods to identify root causes of unplanned downtime and eliminate failures
- Work with the operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
- Operate assigned equipment including forklift, scissor lift platform, and all other motorized machine moving equipment used in the facility.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop free of debris and hazards.
- Available to assist with unexpected events and emergencies.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 5 plus years experience as an electro-mechanical technician or maintenance technician working in a manufacturing environment. Textile industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Work Order (WO) repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing automated systems and controls.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic designs.
- Ability to document activities utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in English.
