  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking Equipment Operators to join our environmental contracting team in Charlotte, NC, specializing in hydraulic dredging and sediment dewatering operations. This Equipment Operator position involves operating specialized dredging equipment to remove residuals from wastewater ponds and processing sediment through belt filter press dewatering systems. Training is provided for candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and interest in environmental wastewater operations.

    Key Responsibilities - Equipment Operator

    • Operate hydraulic dredging equipment to remove residuals from wastewater ponds and transfer materials to processing systems
    • Manage belt filter press equipment for sediment dewatering and solids processing operations
    • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on dredging and dewatering equipment to ensure operational reliability
    • Monitor equipment performance and adjust operations to maintain efficiency and safety standards
    • Work collaboratively with team members to complete environmental remediation projects on schedule

    Qualifications - Equipment Operator

    • Valid driver's license with less than 6 points; no DUI convictions within the last 6 years required
    • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness for duty physical examination
    • English language proficiency with ability to read, write, and comprehend safety and operational instructions
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment
    • Capacity to work with limited supervision after completing initial training period

    Preferred Qualifications - Dredge & Dewatering Operator

    • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, mining, or environmental services
    • Maintenance or mechanical repair experience with hydraulic systems or industrial equipment
    • Prior exposure to wastewater treatment, dredging operations, or sediment management projects
    • CDL license (Class A or B) for additional equipment operation opportunities
    • Familiarity with environmental compliance and safety protocols in industrial settings

    Physical Requirements - Equipment Operator

    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and variable temperatures throughout the year
    • Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
    • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required for dredging and dewatering operations
    • Capacity to work extended hours including 40+ hours per week and 5+ days per week during peak project periods
    • Stamina to stand, walk, climb, and operate equipment for extended periods during shift work
