Equis is a set of organizations working to create a better understanding of Latinos, innovate new approaches to reach and engage them, invest in the leadership and infrastructure for long-term change and increased engagement. Since 2019, we have served as a hub of Latino polling, qualitative insights, and data, with analysis based on a large set of interviews, focus groups, online journals, ethnographies, and vote simulations. Equis is a leader in digital innovation, focused on message testing and experiments, anti-disinformation tracking, and digital capacity-building for grassroots groups. Equis is also committed to developing Latino leaders across the progressive space, serving as a convener of organizations and individuals leading Hispanic-focused programs.
POSITION SUMMARY

In 2022, Equis launched a series of “moonshots” designed to build Latino political and cultural power – necessary pieces for our community to meet its full electoral potential. Our “moonshots” offer new thinking and leadership. A 5-10 year program, the moonshots seed, build, and scale efforts that fill gaps in our infrastructure. THE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE IS A PASSIONATE ADVOCATE FOR LATINO VOTERS AND WILL PLAY A CRITICAL ROLE IN SERVICE OF OUR STRATEGY.
As a member of the Development team, the primary responsibility is building a portfolio of prospects and donors to support key areas of work, including the moonshots and organizational research. The Development Associate will engage in and be responsible for all aspects of the donor development cycle, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment, and stewardship. This income-generating position reports directly to the Chief of Development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
IDENTIFY MAJOR GIFT PROSPECTS. Analyze and predict a donor's propensity, capacity and enthusiasm to give. Gather pertinent data to determine the best candidates for the major gifts program.
Move prospective donors along the donor pipeline, investing time and energy to build strong relationships and set up strong solicitations.
STEWARDSHIP OF MAJOR GIFT DONORS. Develop personalized stewardship strategies that continue the major gift relationship for future renewals or multi-year gifts.
OVERSEE GRANT WORKFLOW PROCESSES - from grant application to final grant report working with key staff to ensure each project and/or program meets reporting benchmarks and expectations;
Work collaboratively, under the direction of the Chief of Development with Equis' Executive Leadership Team and Moonshot Directors to reach organization wide fundraising goals.
Execute and report on quarterly/annual fundraising plans, donor solicitations identification, cultivation and stewardship efforts.
Maintain strong records, tracking prospects and donor contacts using organization tools and tracking methods. Ensure that all donor information entry, storage and special requests are recorded and accomplished.
Familiarization with Equis' goals, programs, and financial needs for funder materials and presentations.
Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a fully remote (USA only), full-time position with occasional domestic travel and a competitive salary range of $75,000-$90,000/year. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of what Equis may pay for this position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as budget availability and commensurate with the selected candidates' experience. Equis offers medical, dental, vision coverage at no premium, 4% employer match 401K, and excellent vacation, sick and personal leave.
