    EMPLOYMENT STATUS:Full-Time

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Lunario Media is seeking a strong writer/producer with a passion for politics and Latino storytelling to join the digital editorial video team. This person will work closely with the Executive Producer, Senior Producer, and Line Producer from development to post, write video scripts, and lead their own individual video projects. They will work in a fast-paced digital video environment focused on making informational videos for the Latino community, both in English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader and self-starter who can juggle multiple projects at once, has an interest in breaking down political topics, and has a background in news, digital media, or related fields.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and pitch ideas for topics, segments, and new shows relevant to the Latino community, with a focus on politics.
    • Research and write scripts that align with Latino culture and community (in English & Spanish).
    • Research and book guests that represent the diverse Latino community.
    • Oversee assigned video projects across all levels of production, from pre to post.
    • Work with the production management team to stay on track with budgets, schedules, deadlines, and other production logistics.
    • Collaborate with the talent and other staff members to ensure a smooth and successful production.
    • Work closely with editors and the art department, providing detailed notes.
    • Write for other producers' video projects as necessary.
    • Write social copy when necessary.
    • Stay current with industry trends and technologies in digital content, and adapt writing and production methods accordingly.
    • Be aware and understand specific audiences and challenges surrounding Latino culture and issues, and work with sensitivity toward those communities.
    • Participate in organizational wide trainings, meetings, and events.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, journalism, film, English, or a related field preferred

    • 3+ years of experience in writing, producing digital, broadcast, news, or similar editorial/creative content

    • Strong creative, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Strong writing and storytelling skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities

    • Deep knowledge of politics, news/current events, pop culture, and social trends in the Latino community.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work well under pressure

    • Ability to adapt to a changing start-up environment, including wearing many hats and performing related tasks that will arise as the organization grows

    • English and Spanish fluency is required, as a large portion of the content will be in Spanish.

    Per the pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Lunario's total employee compensation package. Other rewards may include bonuses, paid time off, and other benefits.
