DESCRIPTION

Slidell, La based Insurance MGA/Wholesale Insurance Brokerage firm with offices in LA, TX, and FL has an immediate opportunity for skilled Multi-line Underwriters & Brokers. We will consider remote opportunities to the right qualified candidates as an option, or for a person in a state where we are licensed to create a remote office in a new territory (AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, OK, TX)

Responsibilities

Underwrite new and renewal business for insurance company partners under general direction

Oversee the evaluation, classification, and rating of risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing

Implement underwriting policies under the direction of the Management and ensure compliance with these policies

Monitor critical areas, such as loss ratio, costs, retention ratio and new business hit ratio, formulating corrective action where necessary

Participate in national and local advertising, telemarketing and agency visits/sales calls to our customers

Qualifications/ Skills

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

5+ Years of underwriting experience, excess & surplus MGA/Wholesale experience REQUIRED in a Producti`n or Production Management role.

Strong sales and marketing skills a must, business acumen, interest in continued education and professional development

Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred

Strong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of UW Concepts, practices, and procedures
