    OVERVIEW

The personal lines Associate Account Executive grows and maintains a book of personal lines customers and policies.  The associate starts by focusing primarily on bundling home and auto with our core, AM Best rated, national brand companies.  During the initial 6-12 months the associate will learn to advise and place insurance based on value and will earn marketing leading bonuses for each bundle placed (currently around $200 per bundle).

Once the Associate can demonstrate 1) a command of insurance knowledge and service principles, 2) the level of daily, weekly, and quarterly activity commensurate with success at the next level and 3) sales performance that meets / exceeds the agreed annual goal, the Associate will be promoted to a full scale Account Executive, which will enable more compensation, responsibility, and market access.

The role also involves providing general marketing support to the agency by using the knowledge and experiences gained by product and customer level interaction and execution to assist the agency in strategy, vision, planning, and development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage, develop, and grow a book of personal lines bundled (home + auto) business with Erwin's Core Insurer Partners.
    • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance relationships with sales and underwriting oriented contacts at relevant insurer companies
    • Facilitate client/customer personal queries and service requests
    • Assist agency leadership and management in the identification of key marketing drivers for assigned markets
    • Attend and meaningfully contribute to Erwin's Agency Development Meetings
    • Take an active role in professional development by discussing career aspirations with leadership and taking advantage of financial support offered by the agency toward insurance designation, training, and education activities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ideally one (1) to three (3) years of personal lines experience.  However, a demonstrated interest in the general insurance markets will also be considered (Risk Management & Insurance undergraduate degrees, etc)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to navigate through multiple system without assistance
    • Experience with AMS360 and PL Rating is a plus
    • 2-20 General Lines or 20-44 Personal Lines Producer license is required; it is preferred that the candidate already maintain one of these licenses, however, the agency will support the ideal candidate in securing if necessary
    • Bachelor degree in business, economics, psychology, communications, or math/statistics is a plus
    • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Insurance industry designations are a plus

    COMPENSATION:

This role is ideal for a candidate looking to initiate their sales career or to continue building on an early stage sales career.  Erwin offers a base salary, typically in the $25,000 to $35,000 range with very attractive monthly bonus opportunities which are designed to provide the very realistic probability that the candidate will earn between $40,000 and $50,000 per year.  There are no caps on these bonuses so the income possibilities go beyond $50,000 if the candidate exceeds goals.

This role is the entry level position into a career development plan where promotions along a personal lines or commercial lines sales, sales management, and potentially practice leadership path are designed to add more compensation growth and increased responsibility as the candidate develops.

    AGENCY OVERVIEW

Erwin was established in 1963 and is currently making investments like a startup (think, “57 year old startup”).  We are focused on enabling human insurance intelligence with digital resources to create customer experiences that agencies should be delivering in the modern era.  Underwriting systems, policy analysis systems, exposure analysis models, we are focused on integrating all of these to provide our clients, customers, and prospects with the information they need to make insurance decisions in a consolidated, actionable format.

These digital capabilities are being assembled in an insurance environment with highly qualified insurance professionals.  We have team members with experience insuring spacecraft, Napa Valley wineries and vineyards, high value art shipments, and large, complex casualty cases.
