The Spring internship has flexible start and end dates, but generally runs from January 2nd until April 30th. The application deadline is October 31st, 2022, after which we will begin conducting candidate interviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in an Industrial Design Bachelor's or Master's program, a recent graduate or equivalent practical experience.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP: The industrial design internship is a paid, 40hours/week on-site position. While working at Essential, you get to work as a junior design team member, tasked with client projects, internal initiatives, and presentations for marketing and awards. You get to collaborate with other disciplines within the office; research, innovation strategy, engineering, & digital experiences. It is an excellent opportunity to broaden your horizons and explore beyond Industrial Design.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:

A designers attitude: eagerness and ability to learn, self-initiate, work with a team, and work hard.

Extensive capability in Adobe Suite, Solidworks, and Keyshot.

Excellent sketching, form development, 2D/3D visualizations, and CMF sensitivity skills.

Proficient in visual and verbal representation of ideas, physical prototype development, and 3D printing.
