    Essential is a global design, development and innovation firm that exists to empower people through the power of design. Our clients are agents of change at the world's leading brands in consumer, tech, healthcare / life sciences and industrial sectors. Founded in 2000, we are based in the heart of Boston's Innovation Economy, and became part of PA Consulting's global organization in late 2018.

    As part of our continued explosive growth, we are expanding the Brand Design team at Essential's Boston studio that creates new brands for our clients – naming, identity, strategy, purpose / vision / values and other core visual and verbal elements. We are looking to add an experienced Brand Strategist to help lead this team's work.

    The right candidate will be able to check all of these boxes:

    • Bring an expert, strategic brand voice to our team, providing our clients and Design teams with well-researched, complete and actionable brand strategies;
    • Analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, including our internal Research and Insights team, to develop a strategic point of view;
    • Understand the connection between brand strategy and market defining products, services, experiences and businesses that drive growth;
    • ~5 years in a strategy role with focus on creating new brands at a brand / design agency or well-known brand;
    • Experienced with both global businesses and expansion stage companies;
    • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or relevant field. MBA or similar highly desired;
    • Strong background in qualitative/quantitative research and analytics;
    • Comfortable in new business and client development conversations with companies of every size and growth stage;
    • Expert in creating presentations, design briefs and with strong writing skills;
    • Hands-on, creative problem solver with entrepreneurial mindset and strong work ethic.
    • Able to embrace ambiguity and adapt to rapidly changing needs and demands of a high performance culture. Unbreakable and unshakeable.
    • Fluent in storytelling and able to manage collaborative projects across organization;
    • Trusted partner to company leadership team, as well as parent company, clients, partners and internal stakeholders; able to navigate complex organizations and get things done quickly and smoothly.
