Salary: $86,894.00 - $143,375.00 per year

Our Team is currently recruiting for two (2) Full-Time Psychiatric Physician Extenders. Our 24 hour in-patient facility serves adolescent, adult, deaf and geriatric patients. This Psychiatric Physician Extender will function to augment the resources within the Psychiatry Department as it pertains to the provision of Clinical Services and meeting the psychiatric needs of our patient population. The position will function as a mid-level practitioner under the supervision and license of a Psychiatrist The Psychiatric Physician Extender must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities including such practice areas as pharmacology, particularly in psychotropic medications and lab monitoring; daily patient rounds with observations/interviews; clinical staff updates on patient care; psychiatric progress note documentation; and patient management including referrals for active treatment. Other responsibilities include evaluating patients upon admission, developing comprehensive treatment plans, serving on medical staff committees, documenting patient progress in medical records, educating patients and their families, and providing educational groups for patients.
The normal schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the hospital. Other schedules will be considered based on hospital need.
*This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Holding a Psychiatry Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) and one year of experience and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board holding the Psychiatric
Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification and one year of experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
