The Estate Administration/Probate Attorney’s primary responsibility is to oversee all estate administration matters. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) • 100% of all estate administration court deadlines are met, or a Motion to Extend Time to File is submitted to the court. • 100% of all time is entered by the end of each week. Compensation- $90,000 - $100,000, 401(k), benefits, and bonus Responsibilities: • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Management, oversight, and primary responsibility for all estate administration matters • Conduct follow-up call with probate clients • Determine a plan for the administration of the Estate, what information is needed from the client, and communicate with the Estate Administration Team on next steps • Review pleading drafts prepared by Estate Administration Legal Assistants and Paralegals • Ensure that pleadings are submitted according to estate timelines • Resolve any issues with the court surrounding a probate matter • Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients through email, phone, and in-person meetings • Ensure that all time is tracked accurately and submitted on time by the end of each week Qualifications: • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Comfortable with technology and web-based apps • Ability to consistently track and enter billable time in practice management software • Effective teamwork and communication skills Education and Experience : • J.D. from an accredited Law School • Active Massachusetts Bar Licensure • 2-3 years of experience in Massachusetts probate matters as a primary concentration Physical Requirements : • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000
