Our expanding law firm is looking for an experienced estate planning attorney. We require a highly analytical applicant with excellent negotiation and organizational abilities who is available to work full time. You will prepare documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney as our estate planning attorney. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and seeks to eliminate questions regarding how an estate should be managed. Our ideal candidate will have extensive estate planning knowledge, be a qualified attorney, and have excellent written communication abilities. Please apply if this describes you! Responsibilities: • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Confer with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Educate clients about options for retirement, donating to charity, and purchasing insurance • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks. • Complete estate tax analysis, credit shelter trust funding, and disclaimer options. • Prepare and file gift and estate tax returns, including 706, 709, M706, and M706Q. • Guide and advise clients through all aspects of trust and estate administration. • Work with farmers and business owners to establish sound estate plans and succession plans. Qualifications: • Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years • Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Great communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Must have extensive estate planning and estate administration experience. • Must have worked in a similar position for 5 years minimum. • Must be licensed in the State of Minnesota. Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 yearly
