Estate Planning Attorney - Growth and Impact Focused CANDIDATES MUST BE LICENSED TO PRACTICE IN MASSACHUSETTS AND RESIDE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF OUR SUDBURY OFFICE. At 20West Legal, we’re a small but mighty estate planning firm that values grit, intelligence, humor, and getting things done the right way. We take our work seriously but not ourselves. We believe great legal work is built on strong relationships, clear communication, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. Estate planning isn’t just about documents. It’s about people, families, and the lives they’ve built. Clients trust us with some of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, and we take that responsibility seriously. We’re looking for an estate planning attorney who is as comfortable with people as they are with the law. Someone who can sit with clients, listen carefully to their stories, understand their assets, their family dynamics, their concerns, and what truly matters to them, and then help design a plan that protects all of it. Our team handles much of the drafting and administrative workflow, which allows our attorneys to focus on what matters most: being a trusted advisor to clients. The right person for this role doesn’t just explain the law. They build trust, create clarity, and make clients feel confident that they are in the right hands. If you’re organized, adaptable, collaborative, and bring a positive attitude (bonus points for a good sense of humor), you’ll fit right in. This is an in-office role, where you’ll be part of the daily rhythm of the firm—learning, growing, contributing, and making a real impact on clients and community. Responsibilities: What You’ll Do • Lead initial client consultations, taking the time to listen and understand each family’s goals, values, and concerns • Help clients think through important life decisions about family, assets, and legacy • Translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance clients can understand and act on • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the planning process , from the initial meeting through signing • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and referral partners • Design estate plans that protect clients’ families, assets, and wishes • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related estate planning documents using WealthCounsel • Review completed plans with clients to ensure clarity, confidence, and understanding • Work closely with paralegals and administrative staff who support drafting, document preparation, and workflow • Manage matters from consultation through signing and completion • Assist with and oversee signing ceremonies to ensure proper execution of documents • Maintain organized client records and communication in firm systems • Participate in team meetings to review workflow and client progress • Attend firm seminars, client appreciation events, and community outreach efforts • Represent the firm in the community and help build relationships with referral sources • Stay current on estate planning law through research and continuing legal education • Provide updates to the managing attorney on case status and timelines • Contribute ideas to improve the firm’s estate planning processes and client experience What We’re Looking For • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school • Active admission to the Massachusetts state bar • 2–5 years of experience strongly preferred • Solid familiarity with wills, trusts, and probate concepts • Strong written and verbal communication skills Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who: • Builds rapport easily and genuinely enjoys working with people • Listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions • Understands that estate planning is about people and relationships, not just legal documents • Can explain complex legal strategies in a clear, calm, and approachable way • Makes clients feel comfortable, heard, and confident • Thrives in a small, fast-paced, collaborative team environment • Is professional, relatable, and deeply client-focused If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yep, this sounds like me,” we’d love to hear from you.
