Position Overview
A premier high-end custom home builder in Park City, Utah is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join its team. The company has been in business for over 30 years and builds some of the finest custom homes in the Park City market, with project budgets reaching up to $50M.
This is a key estimating and preconstruction role responsible for developing accurate budgets, evaluating scopes, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and helping ensure complex custom residential projects are positioned for successful execution.
What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed conceptual, preliminary, and final estimates for high-end custom homes.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents to develop accurate project budgets.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis.
• Solicit, review, level, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Develop bid packages, allowances, proposals, and budget updates.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and project partners.
• Maintain and utilize historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy.
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into construction.
• Support estimating and preconstruction efforts on highly customized residential projects with budgets reaching $50M.

What We're Looking For

• Estimating experience within custom home construction or high-end residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, sequencing, and trade scopes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and detailed project budgeting.
• Strong understanding of costs associated with complex, highly customized residential construction.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify scope gaps and potential cost exposure.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and internal teams.
• Experience in the Park City market or comparable luxury residential markets is highly desirable.
