We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial, residential, and municipal electrical construction projects throughout South Florida.
This position is suited for an estimator who understands electrical construction, takes ownership of deadlines, and knows how to turn drawings and specifications into complete, profitable proposals.
You will work directly with company leadership, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel. Your estimates will play a key role in project selection, pricing strategy, and company growth.
What You Will Do
Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
Complete detailed electrical quantity takeoffs
Prepare labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead estimates
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
Prepare complete bid packages before submission deadlines
Track addenda and incorporate revisions into estimates
Assist with bid reviews, project handoffs, and scope clarification
Prepare pricing for change orders and revised project scopes
Maintain material pricing, labor units, and historical estimating data
Compare estimated costs against completed project costs
Support project managers and field teams after award
What We Are Looking For
At least three years of electrical estimating experience
Commercial electrical estimating experience
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction methods
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and one-line diagrams
Experience preparing complete takeoffs and bid submissions
Knowledge of labor units, material pricing, and project overhead
Strong organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills
Ability to manage several bid deadlines at the same time
Clear communication with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and field personnel
Knowledge of National Electrical code is a plus!
Estimating Software - Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Accubid
McCormick
PlanSwift
OnTrack
Similar electrical estimating or takeoff software
Experience That Will Set You Apart
Design-build or negotiated project experience
Experience estimating public, municipal, educational, or commercial projects
Knowledge of South Florida electrical material pricing and labor conditions
Established relationships with local vendors and subcontractors
Experience reviewing estimated costs against actual project performance
Familiarity with change-order pricing and project turnover

Office-based with occasional jobsite visits

Extended hours may occasionally be required near major bid deadlines
