DESCRIPTION:

As an Estimator - JOC at Our Client, reporting to the Lead Estimator/VP JOC Operations, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts.

• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.

• Provide complete conceptual (or bid work) and final estimating input on complex projects.

• Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.

• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures.

• Assist the contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.

• Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.

• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience as an Estimator. An advanced degree is desired.

• Experience working on NYC Metro area construction projects is required. Experience working with public NYC agencies is desired.

• Experience working on multiple projects and with various clients at the same time is required.

• Candidate needs to have Job Order Contracting (JOC) experience or experience working on Unit Price projects in NYC public sector.

• Candidates must have worked for small local and regional contractors that focus on smaller projects or renovation and/or tenant improvement work.

• Extensive construction industry experience working in the public sector is a plus.

• Candidates must also have strong computer skills and be proficient with estimating software.
