    You may have also acquired the following skills:

    • Knowledge of supply chain management fields, practices, and methods
    • Experience handling procurement plan development, negotiations, and contract management
    • At least 3 years of experience with procurement of products and services or supplier related interfaces is preferred
    • At least 2 years of commodity management experience is preferred
    • At least 1 year of experience with SAP enterprise system is preferred

    This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Buyer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Operational Support Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned services, materials and equipment are obtained at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) consistent with set standards of quality, delivery, and service via the following:

    • Ensures that procurement requirements are understood and that procured products and services meet lead-time, price, and quality requirements
    • Responsible for writing and launching request for quotation
    • Generate and execute purchases up to a specified dollar amount
    • Engages and coordinates with internal customers to identify suppliers and alternates for competitive market
    • Participates as key member of Cross Functional Teams (CFT) in supplier relationship activities such as supplier assessments and supplier development initiatives
    • Gathers and reports metrics to assess effectiveness of purchasing/procurement operations
    • Actively engages in supplier negotiations and development of framework agreements
    • Displays professionalism and responsiveness to colleagues, suppliers, and customers

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $65,000 - $84,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
