    Job Summary

    As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed quotes for new business opportunities, including defining required materials and estimating labor costs. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure that every quote is timely, accurate, and aligned with drawings and technical specifications. This role is critical to supporting the company's sales pipeline and maintaining strong customer relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs), blueprints, and technical drawings to fully understand project schematics and requirements.
    • Determine material costs by analyzing specifications, sourcing supplier pricing, and evaluating quantity requirements.
    • Calculate labor estimates based on production processes, complexity, and time requirements.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to clarify technical specifications and resolve any discrepancies in drawings.
    • Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain accurate and current material and component pricing.
    • Partner with Sales to align quotes with customer expectations, timelines, and budget considerations.
    • Prepare clear, detailed, and professional quotes that reflect all costs, timelines, and terms.
    • Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and related documentation for future reference and audits.

    Required Qualifications

    • Prior experience in estimating, cost analysis, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost and labor calculations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and documentation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working directly with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing teams in a cross-functional capacity.
    • Familiarity with estimating or ERP software systems.
    • Background in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environment.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Engineering, Business, or Industrial Technology.

    Technical Skills

    • Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
    • Cost estimation and analysis
    • Material takeoff and quantity calculations
    • Labor time estimation
    • Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
    • ERP or estimating software (preferred)
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
